Looking for some Christmas cocktail inspiration? 🍸

We’ve enlisted the help of Dan and Alan from the City of Aberdeen Distillery & Gin School - the first distillery in Aberdeen for nearly 80 years - who share two of their favourite show-stopper cocktails perfect for the festives.


Cocktail One - Rubus Idaeus


"Squish, mix, shake and pour. Easy to make, hard to forget."

What you'll need

  •  1½ shot (37.5ml) of Fresh Gin (available at the distillery shop)
  •  ½ shot (12.5ml) of Triple Sec
  •  1 shot (25ml) fresh lime
  •  ½ shot (12.5ml) shot of Gomme
  • Small punnet of raspberries
  • Ice
  • Cocktail shaker
  • Julep strainer (or tea strainer)
  • Muddler 
  • Coupette glass

Step by step

  • Crush raspberries with gomme
  • Mix and shake with all ingredients with ice
  • Double strain into a chilled coupette glass
  • Garnish wish a curl of lime and a raspberry
  • Enjoy!




Cocktail Two - The Headmistress

"Whipping up The Headmistress is easy. Deliver a silky smooth white chocolate flavour of lasting pleasure before finishing with a kiss of refreshing lemon."

What you'll need

  •  Double shot (50ml) of Chocolate and Mint Gin (available at the distillery shop)
  •  ½ shot (12.5ml) of Triple Sec
  •  1 egg white
  •  1 shot (25ml) fresh lemon
  •  ½ shot (12.5ml) of vanilla syrup
  •  Ice
  •  Cocktail shaker
  •  Julep strainer (or tea strainer)
  •  Angostura bitters
  • Coupette glass

Step by step

  • Combine the ingredients and shake without ice for 30-60 seconds
  • Add ice and shake again (briefly to cool)
  • Double strain into the glass
  • Decorate with small dashes of angostura bitters and swirl with a straw
  • Finally garnish with a dried lemon (or a curled peel of lemon on the rim of the glass)
  • Enjoy!
